What is Sandbagger Anonymous?

Sandbagger Anonymous offers our customers subtle and sometimes not so subtle ways of letting sandbaggers know that you are on to their game. We provide a central database of sandbaggers by golf course that have been identified by our customers. You can nominate a sandbagger or view sandbaggers that have already been nominated by other golfers. We also provide products that you can present to friends for fun or anonymously slip into a sandbagger’s golf bag. Our products and services are not meant to be malicious at any time.

What is the definition of a sandbagger?
  1. Generally, any golfer who misleads others about his ability level, claiming to be worse than he actually is at golf.
  2. More specifically, a golfer who artificially inflates his handicap index in order to better his chances of winning tournaments or bets. A sandbagger is considered by many to be the lowest form of life on a golf course. Sandbaggers can inflate their handicap indexes by selectively leaving out their best rounds of golf when they post scores for handicap purposes. Then, when the sandbaggers enters a tournament, they show, for example, a handicap of 18 when, in fact, their true handicap might be closer to, as an example, 12. Voila, they’ve just bought themselves 6 extra strokes off their net score, and lowered their odds for winning their flight or the tournament. Sandbaggers are, at base, cheaters and hustlers. Golfers who are found out to be sandbaggers are often ostracized and always berated and looked down upon. Winning a tournament or bet in this fashion is called “sandbagging.” A golfer who has won by sandbagging is said to have “sandbagged” his opponent.
How do I know I'm being sandbagged?

The website Popeofslope.com provides statistical data on identifying a sandbagger. This data really drives the point home of how high the odds are that someone will do better than their handicap.

How do I nominate a sandbagger?

Nominating a sandbagger is quite easy. Simply click the “Nominate A Sandbagger” button at the top of any page. Select the Nomination product. Fill out the form with all the required information about the sandbagger that you would like to nominate, add the nomination to your cart, and purchase the nomination. We charge you a small fee for this service so that we can pay our maintenance overhead. We do not post any information identifying you with the sandbagger you nominated. Once we review your submission it will be posted on our Sandbaggers page. If you have supplied a valid e-mail address for the sandbagger we will send them an e-mail notifying them that they have been nominated. Note that we will not allow any profanity or malicious comments when nominating the sandbagger. Go to Nominate A Sandbagger.

Why is the sandbagger I nominated not posted on the Sandbaggers page?

Depending on the volume of sandbaggers being nominated on any given day it takes at a minimum 24 hours for us to review your submission for profanity or malicious content. If your submission is rejected you will be notified by email and will have a chance to resubmit a second time. Once your submission is accepted any information connecting you to the sandbagger is deleted.

How do I view sandbaggers that have been nominated for a golf course?

You can view sandbaggers nominated for a specific golf course by using our Sandbaggers page. Currently we only support the nominating of sandbaggers in the United States. To find sandbaggers for a specific golf course select the state the golf course is located within, then type in the name of the golf course and click the search button. A report will be generated showing the sandbaggers for the golf course. If no sandbaggers have been nominated for the golf course the report will be empty. If you would like to see all sandbaggers nominated for your state then leave the golf course name blank. A sorted report by golf course name will be generated showing all sandbaggers.

Can a sandbagger's name be removed from a golf course?

Your name can be removed from a golf course. To remove a name, purchase a Nomination Removal. Fill in your name, e-mail address, the state, the city, the golf course, and reason for removal (any denial will do). If you received a notification of nomination e-mail with a “Nomination Identifier” make sure to include it, this will make the removal easier for us. We will do our best to remove your nomination and will notify you when it is removed by e-mail. It will take a minimum of 30 days for us to remove your name from our database.

What is the Privacy Policy?

What is a Credit Card Validation Code?

A credit card validation code is a 3 or 4 digit number printed on your credit card. This number is used as an anti-fraud security feature to help verify that you are in possession of your credit card. For Visa, Discover and MasterCard, the three-digit Credit Card Validation number is printed on the signature panel on the back of the card immediately after the account number. Sand Baggers Anonymous, Inc. (or anyone, for that matter) is not allowed to store this information.
