LIV Tour vs PGA Tour- Does it Have to be?
There are many opinions. Many are hypocritical. It’s the Saudis. Didn’t they kill Khashoggi? Didn’t they knock down the Twin Towers? Wait didn’t the help in the Gulf War? Aren’t they homophobic?
Wait, Isn’t Jack Nicklaus building golf course in China? Aren’t they our enemy? Aren’t they threating us in the South China Sea? Don’t they lock up the Uighurs? Xenophobic? Forced mass detentions? Using their organs for transplants?
Doesn’t the PGA Superstore and your clubs profit from cheap foreign labor?
Didn’t the PGA Tour (and MLB) become political in Georgia for voting rights that turned out to be false?
There are other Tours and Events that the PGA doesn’t care about or decide who can remain on the tour- The Masters, The US Open, The Canadian Open, The Open etc.
Why the LIV? It threatens their strangle hold? It’s about money and control.
Next event on the PGA Tour promises to bring on the storm. Members who have not resigned (like Mickelson) may just have standing in an antitrust suit. Then they are independent contractors.
Not cut and dry is it?

The hot topic today and for the last two weeks has been Greg Norman’s LIV Golf Tour and former PGA Tour Players, so-called defection to the LIV.
KA’s take…..
- The Players are sub-contractors to the PGA Tour.
- Players, especially the lower rung are setting themselves and in the future, security for their Families, Boys and Girls this is Capitalism at its best.
- Ever since its inception, the PGA Tour has used and owned the Player’s likeness for any advertising, marketing or intellectual Property with NO Compensation ever to the Player!
- The PGA Tour is a Monopoly. It’s always been their way or the Highway….I know I’ve lived it and living it still. As a Fan with a Ticket or Media with a Credential, look on the back….it says This is issued by the PGA Tour and it can be revoked at ANY time for ANY reason.
Now, let’s get to the Hypocrisy……..
FACT: If Tiger Woods wanted to play a few events merely for the money grab and essentially weak fields, he wouldn’t have to resign his membership to the Tour….not a friggin word would be said, because T-Dub is THE NEEDLE and their Golden Goose…..and quite frankly I wish he would play over there…..they are only 3 day events, lowers the stress on his body until he’s healed, yet he’s playing competitive tournament golf. Another reason would be because the field is only 42 Players and shorter times during the round…. but mainly Tiger’s B game will beat 95% of them. Once Tiger devours a few tournaments and then gets the carnivorous and insatiable killer back…..then watch out. Because Confidence combined with Over the Top Talent equals KILLER. Whether you like Tiger or not, He’s Great for Golf and Growing the Game.
FACT: All of you are up in arms, saying these SOB’s are taking ‘Blood Money’… Really? Every time you walk into a Pro Shop your feeding Blood Money and the Sweat Shops that Profit from your ‘I must have this now’.
Now let me kick you real hard in the sack….You’re raising Hell about Human Rights issues….Where the Hell have you been when Jack Nicklaus has taken a minimum of a MILLION dollars to design Golf Courses over in China. Whoa….Jack currently has 16 courses in full operation and 10 more pending or TBD for which he has he received a hefty deposit.
Or where was the upRoar when Tiger designed the course in Dubai? Yeah, that’s what I thought…..it’s easy to be a Hater and run your Yap, only follow the herd…. Think….YOU’VE been feeding the Monster longer than they have. Don’t tell me if you were offered some exorbitant amount of money to do the same job, work less, therefore spend more time with your family and in a few shots provide a lifetime of financial security for the people you love, that you wouldn’t do it? You’re a Liar…Why? Remember, You’re a Capitalist!
Let me also say….and be very clear…I do not support this Tour, but I do support the Players and their decisions for why they are doing what they are doing…..because many are my friends and some of them in my darkest hour supported me and welcomed me when I returned from Hell! A Friend never Judges, he only becomes a better friend when the times get tougher. ” KA
