The Whiskey Sour. Though for us we prefer a Bourbon Sour. Sandy always has a bottle of Woodford Reserve, Maker’s Mark or Wild Turkey on hand for his sours. In a 30oz SIC “Stop Sandbaggers” Shaker he makes two sours at a time. One for him and one for Mrs. Sandy. OK, Mrs. Sandy is the mixologist in the family.
Add 4 oz. bourbon
Add 2 oz. freshly squeezed Lemon juice
Add 1 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
Add 1 egg white.
Garnish with brandied cherry. (In a new jar we dump half the liquid and fill with bourbon before putting them back in the fridge); Angostura bitters to taste (Again we modify with Orange bitters) Add a slice of Orange and serve in rocks glass (We use single large ice cube 2″ x 2″)
